ATTEN-HUT!!!  Let me introduce myself.  I am Col. Harold “Brick” Harder, United States Army, Retired.  I have served my country in the military from Korea to Afghanistan. I took an oath early on to protect and defend the Constitution for the United States of America against all enemies both foreign and domestic. I vowed to give my life in their defense.  That oath did not have an expiration date.  I am still bound to it, as every citizen should be.

I have paid my dues.  I will attempt to tell it like it is from the prospective of 45 years of service as both a combat leader, staff officer and concerned citizen.  I am not, and never have been, a martinet and I do not believe that military action is always called for to deal with every two-bit clown in a turban, fez or straw hat.

All war represents a failure of diplomacy

Tony Benn quotes (English Politician, b.1925)

The military is a tool of diplomacy but the use of the military is the failure of that diplomacy.  It only takes one side to make war, as evidenced by 9/11.  As George Orwell put it so succinctly, “People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. ”  I have had the distinctive honor to lead  some of those rough men into harms way on your behalf.

Now if we could just clean up the mess in Obama-land without destroying the entire country…  before HE destroys the entire country…
