My recent trips back to Viet Nam changed my outlook on life, big time.I invite you to share my experiences and observations as well as the occassional rant.
My next trip will be for 6-8 months and started on November 26, 2011. Lan and I were registered as married in April, 2011, in Tam Ky, Quang Nam Province to avoid the attention of Officialdom as living together without being married is illegal. Our trails and tribulation obtaining a VISA for Lan are arduous and taxing. Now we have to deal with the Hospital at Cho Ray where Lan is treated 5 days a week for TB and Hepatitus-B. She is totally asymptomatic but the Government is aggressively attacking TB and testing POSITIVE will get you into the program which requires one to go to the clinic at Cho Ray Hospital, Saigon, daily, Monday through Friday for meds, blood tests and an examination by the doctor. It ain't free. Stay tuned for more observations and adventures of life in Viet Nam.
